The Texas Cannabis Crusade, a day of “celebration and protest,” for pot-law reformers and tokers is just around the corner.

Sponsored by Texas NORML and OutGrow Big Bro, the third annual Crusade is set for May 1, beginning at 10am in Wooldridge Square Park (just across the street from the Travis County courthouse), when participants will gather for music, food and sign making.

At noon the party will march down Guadalupe Street, past City Hall, and back up Congress Avenue to the Capitol for a pro-pot rally (among the speakers will be local defense attorney Bruce Fox and former narco Barry Cooper). The party will then shift back to Wooldridge Square for music and fun until 10pm.

The event is designed to bring more awareness to current pot-related issues and to coincide with the Global Marijuana March, which features marches in hundreds of cities around the globe (so far, nearly 300 cities have signed on to take part in the May 1 mobilization).

Happy toking!
