On Monday, the Texas Democratic Party announced it will be receiving the financial records of the King Street Patriots, as demanded in a lawsuit filed against the Houston tea party group last week (see “Tea Partiers Party to Ethics Violations?,” Oct. 22). The TDP accuses the KSP of illegally failing to report the source of its funding and of harassing voters in Democrat-heavy precincts in Harris County, especially those with large minority populations. The TDP was scheduled to receive and review the records on Tuesday; at press time, it had not been decided whether the disclosures were sufficient to stave off a Thursday hearing on the suit.
