Official title: Summer TAKS Power Workshop

Location: Austin, McCallum, and Travis high schools (four classes at each school; one teacher for every 10 students)

Subjects: Math, science, English, social studies.

Class content: Review of practice tests, test-taking techniques, and basic vocabulary and skills.

Days of Instruction: 16

TAKS camp students: Most have taken the test five times before the end of their senior year.

Workshop results: After the 2006 TAKS workshop, 53% passed the social studies TAKS,49% passed the English TAKS, 43% passed the math TAKS, 32% passed the science TAKS.

Next TAKS test date: July 10-13
