Doherty (l) is within striking distance of McCaul

A Research 2000 poll paid for by Daily Kos shows the Congressional District 10 race close, and within the margin of error: Incumbent Republican Michael McCaul 46%, Democrat Larry Joe Doherty 42%.

400 likely voters, margin of error +/-5%. The crosstabs show Doherty needs to bump up his support among men and, to a lesser extent, Hispanics. Bottom line: He really needs to get Democrats and independents to not be apathetic and get into the voting booth.

District 10, in case you’ve forgotten, is the one Tom DeLay had drawn up in the infamous 2003 re-redistricting specifically elect Republicans. It stretches from West Lake Hills, through north Austin and Pflugerville, and then all the way to the suburbs of Houston.
