Trust me

Stalwart subscription news service In Fact Daily is reporting that this morning, four whistle-blowers that alerted the city auditor to the funny-money shenanigans at the Convention Center, leading to longtime director Robert Hodge’s dismissal, are sweating bullets. Why? They’ve been called in for meeting with City Manager Toby Futrell.

“Although Futrell says the purpose of the meeting is to reassure the employees, all of whom work in the financial section of the Convention Center Department, some are fearful about the meeting.”

Well, duh! Being called into a one-on-one with the boss of all bosses would make us a little nervous, too. The fact that mismanagement at the Convention Center was apparently rumored for years but only saw action last week would make us all the more fearful that we tipped the apple cart. Hang tough, dudes.
