Texans don’t typically get much in the way of seasons other than “summer” and “not summer,” but this year’s campaign season is doing double duty with City Council and mayoral elections crashing into the redistricted and rescheduled party primaries.

We know it’s confusing – we do this for a living and we’re hardly keeping up ourselves – but after you’ve done your civic duty and voted Saturday in the municipal elections, take a deep breath and head back into the fray on Monday, when early voting begins for the May 29 primaries. As a crash course, read up on a few (by no means all) of the contested races here, check out our endorsements, and follow along with all our updated election coverage at austinchronicle.com/elections.
