Gov. Rick Perry on Oct. 31 appointed three new members to the state Forensic Science Commission. Replacing ousted appointee John Bradley, the controversial Williamson County district attorney, is Tarrant County Assistant D.A. Richard Alpert; filling Tarrant County defense attorney Lance Evans‘ seat is Brownsville attorney Robert Lerma; and replacing Rio Grande Valley forensic pathologist Dr. Norma Farley is Dr. Vincent Di Maio, former Bexar County chief medical examiner. Perry also reappointed the panel’s chair, Tarrant County Medical Examiner Nizam Peerwani. The new members are slated to serve until Sept. 1, 2013.
