In last week’s issue (“Consider the Source: Boring Into BOR,” April 6), I criticized the Burnt Orange Report and its Editor-in-Chief Katherine Haenschen for their practice of bouncing back and forth between paid political consultancy jobs and supposed “journalism.” In her own defense, Haenschen is at pains to point out that she never left her position at BOR during the time when she was the paid campaign manager for Randi Shade’s city council campaign last year, while BOR continued to cover that campaign. Presumably this proves that she has no sense of political and journalistic ethics, and therefore rules regarding such couldn’t possibly apply to her. My apologies.
