He also previews the next big city issue to consume us all – Cap Metro’s newly dropped Project Connect plan for high-capacity transit in Austin, a hugely ambitious (and $$$) set of recommendations for center city light rail, underground Downtown stations, bus rapid transit to serve UT and ACC Highland, new crossings of Lady Bird Lake, and more.

In the second half of the show, Emily Beyda – a longtime Chronicle Food contributor and author of the “Dear Glutton” column – joins us to discuss her debut novel, The Body Double, a deeply rattling book about the ways celebrity culture shapes and even erases us.
