Austin will host its premiere Green Festival next weekend (Oct. 11-12 at the Convention Center), a joint project of Global Exchange and Co-op America which hope to bring together “green enterprises, environmental groups, leading thinkers on the green economy, and thousands of attendees for a two-day party with a very serious objective.” National progressive voices and local activists are among the presenters.

Tickets are $10 in advance and at the door; a $35 Supporter Pass includes admission, Global Exchange membership, and a subscription to Mother Jones. Arriving by bicycle will get you a discount, and there’ll even be valet bicycle parking. For more info, visit www.greenfestivals.com.
