On Monday, Gov. Rick Perry told the Austin American-Statesman that, in talking with business leaders and based on info obtained from his staff, he not found “any evidence” that Texas is headed toward recession. “I feel comfortable that, just like in your family, and just like millions of Texans, that if the belt needs to be tightened, you can tighten the belt,” Perry said.
