Capital Metro has released its August update on the progress of MetroRail. We don’t entirely understand all of it, but there is lots of “completed” and “final” in it, so we’ll raise the arm a bit. What appears to be most important:

“Began final system validation process on Aug. 3. This step consists of a thorough review and testing of all signal houses, crossing functionality, circuit plans and other field equipment followed by re-testing with a train.”

Remaining milestones include finalizing that validation, completing full-service test runs to finalize schedules, relocating train detection equipment, and resolving “any remaining communication issues between field control points and the dispatch control center.”
