Capital MetroRail‘s experiment with weekend service begins this week. Every Friday in March, the Red Line will run into the evening, with the last train leaving Downtown at 11:30pm. Also, the Red Line will run on the two Saturdays of South by Southwest (March 12 and 19), 11:30am-11:30pm, but excluding service to Leander.

And hey, here’s some incentive to ride: Black Star Co-op, the brewery/restaurant located at Crestview Station, is offering $1 off their house beers during the entire month of March if you show them your MetroRail tickets. (Black Star’s hopes of benefiting from the Crestview Station location were blunted when MetroRail launched with a schedule that ends around 7:30pm, and only runs on weekdays, not fitting in with most people’s drinking schedules.)
