Rep. Edmund Kuempel, R-Seguin

LegeLand’s thoughts this morning are with Rep. Edmund Kuempel, R-Seguin, who collapsed last night in an elevator in the Capitol and was taken to Brackenridge hospital. Various news outlets are reporting that he was not breathing and without a pulse when he was found, but his condition has now stabilized.

As the Statesman‘s Jason Embry notes, Kuempel is well-liked at the Capitol and is known for his sense of humor. I got a taste of this earlier in the session, when I overheard him threatening to throw a shoe at Gov. Perry.

Get well, Representative.
