What’s the sound of pot hitting your roof? “Thud,” apparently.
At least that’s what homeowners near Greenville told the sheriff’s office on Monday. Turns out four black nylon bags fell from the sky early that morning. And, it turns out those bags were stuffed with hydroponic pot. Around 5:30a police were told to keep their eyes peeled for a “low-flying aircraft” a single-engine plane they later found abandoned, with two more duffel bags inside, next to a runway at the Caddo Mills Muni Airport. Notably, no one has yet been arrested.
In another bust this week not as D.B. Cooper-ish, but certainly worth a look on July 20, U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Rio Grande City station found 1.5 tons of pot stuffed, literally, into a white minivan. Apparently the driver was seen speeding near La Rosita and when cops headed off in pursuit the van raced away how it made it away from the cops with that much load isn’t exactly clear, but when you’re this stuffed with dope you can’t exactly afford to be pulled over.
