For the past few weeks, Republican Austin Congressman Michael McCaul – who is being challenged in November by Democrat Larry Joe Doherty – has been promoting a documentary purportedly showing that two American boys were sent to a “radical” madrassa in Pakistan by their father, held against their will, and “brainwashed.” He made a trip to Pakistan that supposedly secured the boys’ freedom, and he sponsored legislation to investigate just how many American children were being educated in such madrassas overseas.

But, in the words of Emily Litella: “Oh. Never mind.”

Last night, CNN reported that the filmmaker apparently blamed the wrong madrassa, and said he “takes responsibility” for the error. Click below to view.
