Hey, here’s a great way to salute those who died in defense of our nation: Drive down to the Capitol for the Memorial Day ceremonies in your pickup truck plastered with pro-secession bumper stickers. Yes folks, let’s honor those who fell fighting for the UNITED States by advocating rebellion from it.

I saw at least three such vehicles just now in the Capitol visitors parking garage. Charming.

(UPDATE) Okay, I understand now why I saw those stickers: The secessionists are having a rally on the south steps of the Capitol. Great moment of irony: As I walked back into the Senate chambers, the Senators were making eloquent speeches honoring our American troops for Memorial Day, the solemnity broken only by the roars of those secessionist idiots outside coming through the window.
