Michael Levy, the only publisher Texas Monthly has ever had (at 35 years, easily outlasting Tom Landry), announced his retirement Tuesday (effective Aug. 31), issued his fond hopes and tender regrets – and immediately got in a wrangle with the Statesman over inaccuracies in their report of the announcement. Say it ain’t so, Mike!

• The Democratic presidential primaries continued with wildly mixed results but Barack Obama inexorably closing on an overall delegate victory. Next stops: Kentucky and Oregon, May 20.
