A lunatic fax we received today really got us to thinking about the right’s most odious tactic in the current fight over Obama’s health care reform plan: The lie that it will force the elderly to be euthanized.

Seriously, folks … are there really people out there who believe that such a provision would go unnoticed by the national media? Do they really think the Democrats would be foolish enough to push for a provision that would guarantee they never win an election anywhere in this country ever again?

If so, then they’re probably stupid enough to think this Saturday Night Live skit is a real ad:
