With the passing of the Aug. 22 filing deadline, the ballot for the November election is now set. Here the Chronicle staff takes a look at the local races you’ll see on the Nov. 8 ballot – primarily focusing on the five City Council races, each featuring an incumbent up for re-election, and the boards of trustees for the Austin Independent School District and Austin Community College.
When it comes to the partisan races, we’re still in Austin, so most of the local seats (with one notable exception) will likely stay safely Democratic, and the statewide seats safely Republican, but we offer a look at that one exception, plus a few other races that might be in the margins.
