This week’s recount — which Republican incumbent Ernest Garcia requested after Democratic challenger Darlene Byrne defeated him by 800-plus votes — brings our local election to an absolute and final conclusion, and it didn’t require any chad analysis or litigation. With the books closed on the local election, it’s worth taking the time to look at who voted for what and where — which might tell us the shape of things to come in local politics.
