Naming an assistant City Manager wasn’t the only housekeeping Marc Ott took care of today: the new City Manager has named Roger Duncan, a recognized authority on green power programs, to the top General Manager position at Austin Energy.

Duncan previously led AE’s award-winning Green Building program; he’s also overseen strategic planning, governmental relations, energy conservation, and air quality efforts for the city-owned utility. The Austin Climate Protection Plan set ambitious energy-use reduction goals for Austin Energy; meeting those will be among Duncan’s key responsibilities.
