The story at City Council this morning:

Jennifer Kim‘s pulled her public hearing on the solicitation ordinance – cuz you gotta be at the ARCH by 6pm to get a cot. No lie.

Board and commission reforms pass. Longtime B&Cer and Eastsider Lori Renteria says city staffers shouldn’t serve on commissions relating to their own jobs, because “esprit de corps, camaraderie and loyalty” to the borg comes first.

Paul Robbins is pissed the municipal court is moving from Downtown to the (still operating) Home Depot at St. Johns and I-35. Home Depot’s moving to Mueller – the courthouse can’t, because, as Will Wynn explained, we need tax generators there to pay for “environmental improvements and wet ponds.” Priorities, people!

Wynn and Sheryl Cole are getting the band back together – they’re creating a task force from the Music Commission and the Planning Commission to look at the sound ordinance from a Downtown perspective. Those scraggly, strung-out rocker types skulking around make me feel so urban in my new condo – but do they have to play so loud?
