No shame

The John Cornyn campaign really has some balls. They have no qualms whatsoever about attacking Rick Noriega for things that they’ve done themselves.

At the risk of plagiarizing a Burnt Orange Report post that covered this same topic, I just can’t resist making my own comment and pointing out one more thing that BOR missed.

The Cornyn camp sent out an e-mail Tuesday that breathlessly shrieked:

Just over 24 hours ago, it was discovered that a senior member of Rick Noriega’s staff was trolling on liberal blogs boasting that this election was “(their) chance to destroy the Republican Party and its leadership.”

Did you see Rick Noriega condemn the comments?

You didn’t?

Here is the reason you didn’t see it … he hasn’t done so.

Okay, let’s break down the hypocrisy line-by-line:

1. A senior member of Cornyn’s staff, spokesman Dave Beckwith, himself got caught back in June trolling BOR under the pseudonym “Buck Smith” and baiting readers with incendiary comments.

2. Cornyn never condemned Beckwith for his behavior. In fact, he’s still his lead spokesman.

3. Why in the hell should Noriega condemn the remarks? Let’s keep in mind, folks: A major, stated desire of Karl Rove, Tom DeLay, and other Republican strategists and leaders for the past decade has been to create “a permanent Republican majority.” In other words: destruction of the Democratic Party.

Of course, this is coming from the loyal Bush footsoldier who now has the gall to run ads claiming that he is the candidate who will bring “change.”
