The letter, as sent to us

We thought it was worth checking in with Texas legend Liz Carpenter to see if the letter signed by her, supporting insurgent West Lake Hills candidates Amy Simmons, Mike Beuerlein, and Robin Vaughan, was legit. Indeed it was.

Says the illustrious Miz Liz: “It’s supposed to be funny!” And for the “deathbed” bit? “I don’t feel ready to die, I’m not ready to die, but I am 86 years old.” And still more astute and funny than folks a third your age.

The election is this Saturday; in such a sleepy referendum, West Lake is providing the only real fireworks.
