Anyone addicted, as I am, to C-SPAN radio (I know, its sad) should know that right now members of the U.S. Senate are taking up the issue of sentencing disparities for crack vs. powder cocaine.

Sen. Joe Biden, D-Delaware, just started things off by admitting, finally, that he is “part of the problem.” Indeed, Biden was one of the lawmakers behind the law that codified the so-called 100-to-1 sentencing disparity, wherein 5 grams of crack netted the same lengthy sentence as possession of 500 grams of powder cocaine.
