The Belo Texas poll that I’ve mentioned in previous posts is actually a tracking poll, meaning that they poll on consecutive nights, and release the results of the most recent three nights. Belo is interviewing 400 Texans each night therefore, each poll has 1,200 respondents.
(Belo, if you didn’t know, is a major media company based in Dallas that owns the Dallas Morning News and, here in Austin, KVUE-TV.)
The original release on Tuesday showed Clinton leading Obama 46%-43%. Wednesday night’s poll showed Obama narrowing the gap Clinton is holding steady at 46%, but Obama moves up to 45%. And Thursday’s results, announced just minutes ago on KVUE, show Obama ahead 46%-45%. Since the margin of error is +/-2.8%, this race is still anybody’s guess.
