Austin Pride is off this weekend; the potential threat from Hurricane Harvey is now too real.

Austin Pride President Paul Huddleston issued a statement this morning: “After much discussion, the safety of guests and participants is our priority. The board along with the City of Austin has decided to reschedule the festival and parade. We are looking at dates in September or October.”

AP VP Micah Andress sent a follow-up email around 10:50am to say that Pride’s parade is currently scheduled for Sept. 16, the festival for Oct. 21.
