It’s been more than two years since 44-year-old Anthony Benesh was taken out — with a single high-powered rifle round to the head, fired from a distance, outside a pizza place in far Northwest Austin — and now Austin police are hoping to generate new leads that might help find his killer.
Benesh was killed on March 18 2006, in the parking lot of Saccone’s Pizza, where he’d just eaten dinner with his kids. There was some speculation that the murder might be connected to his dealings with various bikers — and in particular, with his habit of “posing” as a Hell’s Angel. Details of the murder case can be found here.
Anyone with any info on the Benesh murder should contact APD’s homicide tip line at 512/477-3588, or CrimeStoppers (which is offering a reward of up to $1K for info) at 512/472-8477.
