Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo on May 18 handed Detective Richard Muñoz an indefinite suspension for dishonesty and for failing to properly conduct burglary investigations. According to a disciplinary memo, Muñoz admitted that he was “running fast and loose doing investigations.” Still, Muñoz will appeal the suspension, which is the civil service equivalent of termination.
