With the official opening of the new Austin Animal Center just around the corner, the city’s shelter is offering free adoptions from the Town Lake Animal Center site.

Now through Wednesday, Nov. 9, all adoptions from the city’s TLAC shelter will be free. That’s right, free – and will include spay/neuter, vaccinations, a collar, tag and microchip.

After 60 years of operation, the TLAC will close on Nov. 10, with operations picking up again on Nov. 12 (starting at 11a) at the new Austin Animal Center at 7201 Levander Loop. When the new shelter opens, adoption fees will begin again – $75 for dogs, $35 for cats.

You can search the adoptable animals here.
