Program coordinator Sascha Petersen resigned from the staff of the Austin Climate Protection Pro­gram Monday. He follows program manager Jake Stewart, who quit in June 2009, and staff member Rachel Thompson, whose last day coincided with the ACPP’s March 5 community charrette. All three have advanced degrees and/or strong professional backgrounds in climate protection. As a citizen activist, Stewart has been vocal about the need to reexamine and strengthen the program, which is housed at Austin Energy. Thompson is joining the staff of Stewart’s start-up company, which will work to reduce greenhouse gases; Petersen says he plans to work in the area of “climate change preparedness and adaptation.”
