Program coordinator Sascha Petersen resigned from the staff of the Austin Climate Protection Program Monday. He follows program manager Jake Stewart, who quit in June 2009, and staff member Rachel Thompson, whose last day coincided with the ACPP’s March 5 community charrette. All three have advanced degrees and/or strong professional backgrounds in climate protection. As a citizen activist, Stewart has been vocal about the need to reexamine and strengthen the program, which is housed at Austin Energy. Thompson is joining the staff of Stewart’s start-up company, which will work to reduce greenhouse gases; Petersen says he plans to work in the area of “climate change preparedness and adaptation.”
