Avoid lines like this by voting early Credit: photo by Lee Nichols

Early voting has predictably continued to slow a bit, but turnout is still fantastic. After five days, 131,475 Travis County residents have either participated in early voting or cast a mail-in ballot. That’s 22% of the 609,224 registered voters here. Using past history as a guide, numbers will dip this weekend while people are doing other things (go Longhorns! Beat Oklahoma State!), and then spike back up next week.

Hint: Don’t just vote early, go vote RIGHT NOW. The last day of early voting is Halloween, and if you have kids, you know you’ll have distractions that day.
