You can’t do that on network television! Last Wednesday, Jimmie Vaughan stopped by Conan with the classiest big band this side of E Street for a near five-minute strut through “Just a Little Bit” from his Grammy-nominated modern classic, Plays Blues, Ballads and Favorites.

Seriously, nobody get’s that much face time without a few strings being pulled. Perhaps that was O’Brien’s way of repaying the former Fabulous Thunderbird for his surprise appearance on the “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television” tour in Dallas earlier this year. While Team Coco plugged the guitarist’s New Year’s Eve ball at Antone’s, Vaughan’s also sitting in with the Mike Flanigin Trio in the Continental Club Gallery the following evening.
