Lights: Product's a must

While digging through the Stevie Nicks/Lizzy Mercier Descloux tribal-punk tundra of trio Lights‘ 2009 Drag City debut, Rites, I discovered singer/guitarist Sophia Knapp now lives in Austin.

Before Christmas, they opened for Bill Callahan at St. David’s. This month, they do the same for the Entrance Band, Friday, Jan. 22 at Mohawk.

I also came across this glorious a cappella rendition of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” by Girlcrisis, which features Knapp, Caroline Polachek of Chairlift, and Busy Gangnes of Telepathe, among others.
