Recalling that old adage about paving paradise and parking lots, Roky Erickson and Okkervil River’s Will Sheff visit the old grounds of the Jade Tree in the third installment in their Tour of Psychedelic Austin. It was there in 1965 that 13th Floor Elevators’ lyrical visionary Tommy Hall discovered Erickson fronting the Spades.
