Second shifting off the Li’l Cap’n Travis ship that keeps rolling on, singer/guitarist Matt Kinsey keyboardist Jeff Johnston and bassist Gary Newcomb teamed with ex-Mittens drummer Carrie Contey form The Tiny Adventurers, a quartet more steeped in Laurel Canyon esteem than the Capn’s alt.country ways. The quartet released a windswept dandy in this fall’s Wild-Eyed in the Hinterlands, a fourteen-song throwback to 1970s AM radio.
