The Austin Chronicle is an independent, locally owned and operated alternative newsweekly that reflects the heart and soul of Austin, Texas.
Some soundtracks don’t have films, including Fumihito Sugawara’s scoring of this story of Keizo Sasaki, a “salaryman” borne into a cycle of tedium. Austinite by way of Japan, Sugawara primarily utilizes abstract jazz guitar with a healthy amount of reverb, piano, and touches of electronic accompaniment. The wide-open spaces and textures are occasionally sleepy, but frequently inspired.
