Stephanie Salvo’s beats and lyrics sound as if they are straight from urbania (“To the Top”), but on the second track – the title cut – she explodes with an edgy, noir jazz sound before sliding back into her hip-hop groove (“When I Come Around”). That aspect gives the Lord Ronin-produced Contradiction substantial weight; Salvo’s insistent voice and commanding lyrics tattoo it with personal style.
