The Austin Chronicle is an independent, locally owned and operated alternative newsweekly that reflects the heart and soul of Austin, Texas.
Led by Voxtrot guitarist Mitch Calvert, this local quartet syncs up to a taut but less strident Ted Leo (“Flashes”), replete with Strokesian riffage, particularly the waterfall of riff opening “Salt and Sea,” which combines luminous six-string pools and rousing drum-march clusters.
