The Austin Chronicle is an independent, locally owned and operated alternative newsweekly that reflects the heart and soul of Austin, Texas.
Without overplaying the Daylight Titans’ hand at only eight tracks, Boom and Chime broadcasts Andy Smith’s commanding vocals and the band’s 1980s-esque hard-roots drive, which conjures R.E.M. on a True Believers bender. Standouts include the early punk rattle of “Between Joy and Faith” and the wasn’t-that-an-MTV-video? sound of “Bathed in Light.”
