The Austin Chronicle is an independent, locally owned and operated alternative newsweekly that reflects the heart and soul of Austin, Texas.
Brothers Jeff and Ben Brown relocated to Austin from Pennsylvania in 2006, plying their East Coast Americana. On disc, they drafted Keith Langford, Kevin Russell, and Jimmy Smith, thus ensuring a Gourdian sound (“A Run In With a Faded Star”) with their cheeky lyrics. “If I ever get through the gates of heaven, I’m gonna punch the first thing in view,” boasts “Sleeping Like a Baby.”
