With their second LP, Long Live the Infidel, the Wailing Walls stage a two-act classic rock opera steeped in the tradition of the Who’s Tommy but with an alternative edge that recalls the Daron Malakian-led moments of System of a Down’s double album, Hypnotize/Mezmerize. The nursing home characters confront death through compelling suites of bouncy piano pop, aqueous guitar, and orchestral swells. Bravo.
