How Clean Is Your Acid House? (Rock Action)

It’s no mistake; Glasgow’s Errors ended up on Mogwai’s label: Both groups manage and master the sorts of interstitial sonic soundscapes usually reserved for colliding protons or the occasional interplanetary dustup. Where Mogwai constructs towering harmonic cathedrals from the heady debris of feedback loops and forever chords, Errors erects organic electronic outposts that come off as habitable by both man and machine. Opener “Mr Milk” sounds for all the world like … And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead minus the perfect storm of guitar squall and rapture/migraine inducing percussion, while the tangential “Dizzee Rascal +1” takes on tape hiss and ends up sounding like Jean Luc Godard’s Alphaville looks – no mean feat, that. How clean is your acid house? Fucking spotless. (Thursday, March 15, Karma Lounge, 8pm)
