For the holidays, South by Southwest Music 2012 was kind enough to get us Bruce Springsteen. This morning, the conference put up one last seasonal stocking stuffer.

On the SXSW website you’ll find 400 additional acts added to the initial line-up. There’s notable inter/national teasers as usual – Built to Spill, the return of Imperial Teen, and veteran Irish thugs Therapy? – but it’s the locals that are beginning to pool on next March’s music roster, including the Calm Blue Sea, Heartless Bastards – whose new Arrow comes out Valentine’s Day – Danny Malone, this year’s Austin Music Award closers Mother Falcon, Strange Boys, Ume, and one prime candidate for the AMA’s Best New Band, the Wheeler Brothers.

San Francisco native Raoul Hernandez crossed the border into Texas on July 2, 1992, and began writing about music for the Chronicle that fall, debuting with an album review of Keith Richards’ Main Offender. By virtue of local show previews – first “Recommendeds,” now calendar picks – his writing’s appeared in almost every issue since 1993.
