His eight-song debut leans hard toward the country side of the barroom, with the title track recalling Dave Alvin at his most lonesome. Meanwhile, local Christy Hays plays X’s Exene Cervenka to Banta’s John Doe on the taut love ballad “Together, Finally.” Tremendous potential, hoss.
