Ruby Jane's custom fiddle, stolen last week in a Houston carjacking.

Since the carjacking at midnight last Thursday, Dec. 8, of local musician Ruby Jane Smith and her mother JoBelle Smith, her Gibson 12-string guitar has been recovered “with just a little damage.” Most of the nearly $50,000 worth of musical equipment of Ruby Jane’s is still missing and likely circulating in the Houston area. Here’s the equipment list:

– Jonathan Cooper custom-made violin with “Made for Ruby Jane” inscribed

– Michael Kelly custom-made mandolin, dark reddish brown with inlaid head and neck Beta 87 mic

– Pedal board in big gray hard case with two Red Eye DI boxes

– Boss Chromatic tuner, blue ABC switch, silver AB switch
