Following in the tradition of Denton’s Rock Lottery, Austin’s new Lottery League holds its inaugural drawing Friday at Red 7.

At 7pm, ten local drummers pick names out of a hat, and form bands with other random Austin musicians. The eight bands created then come up with clever names and go practice. The next day, Saturday, they meet up again at Red 7 and play a 20-minute set of songs birthed in the last 24 hours.

Obviously, this has great potential for creativity and hilarity, especially with members of bands like the Riverboat Gamblers, When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth, the Crack Pipes, Krum Bums, and more. Come support your local scene; all door proceeds go to H.A.A.M.
