Solar Secrets (Krian)

Today’s episode of “Meet Your Heroes” features Spanish power trio Capsula hooking up with Tony Visconti. The Bowie/T. Rex/Alejandro Escovedo producer knows hot rock when he hears it, and the Buenos Aires-to-Bilbao band has burned up stages for 15 years and over a half-dozen LPs. Solar Secrets divulges the textured psychedelia of its early work, action drive of its later albums, and the raw glam of its recent “Ziggy Stardust” remake. “Seven Crimes,” “Cannot Blame,” and titanic kickoff “Riverside of Love” give an exploded view of the band’s widescreen acid rock, undulating with layers of Martin Guevara’s guitar. The anthemic “Atomic Breakdown,” “Trails of Senselessness,” and “Constellation Freedom” surge tsunamis of melody, Guevara and bassist Coni Duchess demanding sing-along fist-pumps. “Birds of Woods” shoots a psilocybin-spewing rocket straight into another dimension. Visconti proves the perfect hunter to capture Capsula’s wild sounds, vaulting its vision from clubs straight into arenas.
