The Best of Celtic Christmas (Narada) The charm of Celtic carols is their freshness to ears weary of jingle dogs and songs about sleigh rides when it’s 75 degrees outside. Celtic Christmas is a unique format transcending the usual drippy holiday dross: Disc one highlights songs sung in English, Gaelic, and Breton, plus a few instrumentals. Disc two is themed “The Night Before a Celtic Christmas,” and features 15 evocative, noncommercial tracks by the Irish band Dordán. Choose elegance, not tinsel, this year.
